A B O U T    T H E    A R T I S A N    S E R I E S

The BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Artisan Series is a search to discover the best emerging visual artists from North America. Now in its 8th year, the Artisan Series is excited to announce its new partner, Artsy. This partnership will help provide emerging artists with a powerful platform to share their work with more curators, collectors, and art enthusiasts than ever before. Artists will submit a photo of their artwork online and exhibit at local art gallery events across the U.S. and Canada, for the opportunity to showcase their work at SCOPE Miami Beach, one of the largest global art fairs in the world.

Creativity is what inspires all of us to push the boundaries of our imagination, blending new ideas and art forms to create artistry the world has never seen before. Submissions for this year's competition are now open.

SUBMISSION

JUDGING

Judges from across the North America will select a group of Regional Finalists to be featured in each of the Regional Gallery events. For artists outside the regional locations, judges will select up to 100 online finalists to be featured in an online competition.

REGIONAL GALLERY EVENTS

Regional Finalists compete in a juried exhibit at one of our 14 Regional Gallery events. One Regional Winner from each gallery event will advance and showcase their art at SCOPE Miami Beach.

ONLINE VOTING

Online finalists and Regional Finalists will be featured on the Artisan Series website, which will be open to public voting. The two entries with the highest votes will be deemed the online winners and will advance and showcase their art at SCOPE Miami Beach.

SCOPE MIAMI

Fourteen (14) Regional Winners and two (2) Online Winners will be invited to exhibit their work in December at SCOPE Miami Beach, one of the largest global art fairs in the world.

ARTISAN FINALE

In Miami, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, with support from Artsy, will host a grand finale event where judges will select a Grand Prize and Second Place Prize Winner. A People’s Choice Winner will also be announced.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE

Event attendees at SCOPE Miami Beach will vote and select a People’s Choice Winner.

GRAND PRIZE

The Grand Prize winner will receive a cash stipend and collaborate with Artsy to create a public installation in New York City, set to debut sometime between April – August 2018. The Second Place Winner and People’s Choice Winner will each receive a cash stipend to create a solo exhibit at a gallery in their region. The Grand Prize winner, Second Place Prize Winner, and People’s Choice winner will all receive custom artist pages on Artsy.
